Measures to avoid seepage and stagnation of water in Toilets
Background:
Drain water from lavatory splashes over the Bogie / Under gear components when the train is in run which leads to corrosion of under gear components. Also there is problem of Stagnation of water in Toilets leading to unhygienic conditions.

Description:
To avoid water splashing drain holes in pan type lavatory have been eliminated. Additional stiffenings given in the inlay to minimize the drumming effect there by reducing the chances of water pockets.
Implementation Status at ICF:
Elimination of drain hole mplemented from 2013 and additional stiffenings introduced from 2015.
